PURPOSE:To obtain an elegant specular surface having a gold color tone with controlled yellowness by subjecting the surface of a metal to Cu-Zn-Ni alloy plating so as to deposit Cu, Zn and Ni in a certain ratio. CONSTITUTION:A Cu-Zn-Ni alloy film consisting of, by atom, 70-85% Cu, 15-25% Zn and 1-10% Ni and having a gold color tone is formed on the surface of a metal by electroplating to provide a specular surface. The color tone of the film has 80-95 L*, 5-6 a* and 15-25 b* in CIE1976(L*a*b*) color space representation. The preferred metal on which the specular surface is formed is Al or an Al alloy.
