PURPOSE:To facilitate data retrieval in a special reproduction mode by providing converting circuit which converts the data on the part to be turned into a noise bar in the special production mode into the address of a peripheral part and delivers it and an advance converting circuit which converts the data whose address is changed into the original address again in a normal reproduction mode. CONSTITUTION:The video signal converted into a digital signal by an A/D converting circuit 2 and recorded to a recording/reproducing part 4 with a correction code added from a code circuit 3. The reproduced digital data receives correction of the code error by a correcting circuit 5 with use of a correction code. This corrected digital data is converted into video signals by a D/A converter 6 and delivered. A converting circuit 16 is provided between the converter 2 and the circuit 3 together with a converting circuit 16 set between the circuit 5 and the converter 6 respectively. The circuit 15 converts the data on the part to be turned into a noise bar into an address of a peripheral part and delivers it in a special reproduction mode where a recording medium is fed fast for retrieval of pictures. While the circuit 16 converts the data whose address is changed into the original address in a normal reproduction mode and delivers it. Thus the retrieval of data is facilitated in a special reproduction mode.
