PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrasonic microscope automatically injecting a liquid medium without using an operator, by providing a liquid medium injection mechanism for appropriately injecting a liquid acoustic medium between an acoustic lens and a specimen. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic microscope has medium injection mechanisms 3, 4, 5 integrated therewith. That is, a storage tank 5 preliminarily storing a sufficient amount of a medium, a control valve 4 permitting the passage of a constant amount of the medium and a nozzle 3 dripping the medium to an acoustic lens 6 are provided and the medium can be automatically dripped at the beginning of observation. If a control valve control mechanism 41 automatically controlling the valve 4 is added, even when an extremely volatile medium is used, said medium can be replenished appropriately and, therefore, observation can be performed efficiently. A drying mechanism consisting of a fan 14, a heater 13 and nozzle 12 is provided to remove the medium.
