PURPOSE:To obtain a developing device which is compact in the upper and lower directions and can be used even to a color image forming device by providing the supplying part of a toner in the side of the developing device, and supplying the toner to the developing device from the toner supplying part. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is incorporated with a toner supplying part 20 separated by a partition wall means formed with a part of a container main body 11 at the side part of a developing part 30. When the lacking of the quantity of a toner in the developing part 30 is detected, the power held by an image forming device is transferred to the toner supplying part, an arm 22 is rotated in the clockwise direction and a tone supplying roller 23 is rotated in the counter-clockwise direction. As the result, a scooping plate 21 connects slidably the tip to a semicircular bottom part, scoops up the toner, next, the toner supplying roller 23 attracts and conveys the toner to the circumferential surface, and thereafter, at a projected part 11b of the portion wall means 11a, the toner is squeezed out, drops into the developing part 30 and is supplied. Especially, when a developing device 10 is horizontally arranged, the toner drops to the stirring part of the second stirring impeller 32 of the developing part 30 and the sufficient stirring is executed.
