PURPOSE:To facilitate the detection of the parts for which deflection in assembly precision exists, by installing each jig for transferring each part and assembling the parts and inspecting the assembly precision between the parts, in advance of the welding and assembly of the parts which constitute the main body of an automobile. CONSTITUTION:When the assembly precision between the parts such as a main floor assembly 1 and a side body assembly 2 which constitute a main body is inspected, jigs 10-13 are floated up from a surface plate 8 by supplying the compressed air into each floating means 17 through a hose 16, and each part is transferred to the position facilitating transportation. Then, each held part is loaded onto the gage plates 20a, 20b,... for the jigs 10-13, and each part is positioned by the fitting of the locating pins 21a, 21b.... After each jig 10-13 is positioned at a prescribed position on the surface plate 8, the joint state between the joint surfaces of the parts, in other words, the existence of the deflection in the assembly precision is inspected.
