PURPOSE:To prevent a wiper blade from coming off a windowpane at the time of its lifting up or down, by attaching a device body part to the windowpane as situated in the space covered with a door outer panel, in case of a wiper device available for the windowpane or the like of a car body. CONSTITUTION:A wiper arm 8 supporting a wiper blade 9 is rocked in motion. A drive unit of a wiper device is locked to a lower part of a windowpane 3 of a car side door. This locked position is set to a more lower part than an upper edge 1a of an outer panel 1 of the door, namely, to a position to be covered by this outer panel 1 in the state that the pane 3 goes up as far as its full stroke and a window is closed. And, at the time of this window being fully closed, the wiper arm 8 and the wiper blade 9 are made so as to be exposed upward the outer panel upper edge 1a. And, an opening 1b is formed an and around this upper edge 1a of the outer panel, and it should be covered with a cover 10 capable of being opened or closed in linkage with lifting motion of the pane 3.
