The carbon testing system has a support processor (26) supplying the level-sensitive scan design test signals to the system microprocessor (28) through the serial-parallel and parallel-serial converter (31). The results of the level-sensitive scan design test signals are returned from the system microprocessor through the converter to the support microprocessor.
