<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a possible slip, by a method wherein a thin film like gas is interposed between a rotary part and a stationary part to support the rotary part with the gas so as to make the tracking property of a shape detecting roll better at acceleration or the like to provide synchronization between the speed of a steel plate and the circumferential velocity the of a roll without providing any auxiliary driver such as DC motor. CONSTITUTION:A high pressure air is sent into a hollow part of a hollow shaft 8 as bearing gas from an air feed port 10. This air is forced from a nozzle 11 into between the inner wall of a circular hole of a disc 2 and the outer wall of the follow shaft 8, where it is made a thin film to support a radial load of a roller 1. This enables the formation of a support surface for a load over the radial entire length of the roller 1. In addition, a part of high pressure air fed is forced into the end face of a roller via a bypass 12 thereby supporting thrust-direction load with air.</p> |
