PURPOSE:To ensure the stable actions of a floating head slider by forming a floating rail with an angle set to a line vertical to an air input terminal. CONSTITUTION:A floating head slider 10 contains a magnetic disk 18, an air supplying sloping surface 13 which floats the slider 10 with a minute gap secured, and a floating rail surface. The supplied air has the maximum pressure generating factor when the slider 10 is positioned at the inner circumferential side of the disk 18. The floating rail 12 is provided with an angle alpha set against a line (l) vertical to an air supply terminal 11 so that the pressure efficiency of the supplied air is reduced as the slider 10 moves toward the inner circumferential side of the disk 18. This can decrease the reduction of the floating height of the slider 10 at the inner circumferential side of the disk 18. As a result, the floating height of the slider 10 at an approximately fixed level over its moving range and the slider 10 has stable actions. |
