PURPOSE:To prevent use of a program medium for another equipment and to automatically generate the system from the information either of the equipment or the medium when updating the program medium or the regeneration of the system after maintenance work by specifying the equipment and the program medium when the system is generated. CONSTITUTION:In the state of the equipment 1 after its manufacturing, only a hardware constitution information 203 and an equipment identification number 205 only are written and no other information is yet written. Meanwhile, in the program medium 3 offered, a system generating program 4 exists in the location where it is loaded by the IPL of the equipment 1. This program operates after the IPL. Also, in the medium 3, an equipment-information area 5 is provided. Collation with and writing in the said area 5 is able to be executed by means of the program 4. As a result, one the system is generated, the combination of the equipment 1 and the medium 3 is specified, to prevent the use of the program medium for another equipment.
