PURPOSE:To obtain flexure resistance data equivalent to that on a hand rail mounted on an actual machine by abutting a guide rail on one-end inside of a hand rail piece for testing passed rough a fulcrum roller and abutting a guide roller group on the other-end outside respectively. CONSTITUTION:A load 3 is placed on both terminals of the hand rail piece 2 which is passed round the fulcrum roller 1, four simulation guide rollers 20 abuts on the one-end outside of the rail piece 2, and the simulation guide rail 22 abuts on the other-end inside. Consequently, the rail piece 2 has composite stress of inside abrasion, outside partial flexure and flexure by the fulcrum roller 1 multiplicatively, thereby obtaining data very correlative to the flexure resistance life of the hand rail mounted on an actual escalator.
