PURPOSE:To spontaneously remove attached material from surface of a mold for press-forming of a glass material containing lead oxide and to enable continuous forming of lens without influencing the performance of the lens, by varying oxygen concentration of atmospheric gas. CONSTITUTION:A glass material containing lead oxide as a component is heated and pressed with pressing mold to form a lens. In the above process, oxygen concentration of the atmospheric gas is varied to effect the spontaneous removal of Pb attached to the surface of the mold and the prevent the adhesion of glass. Accordingly, continuous forming can be carried out maintaining the performance of lens.
