PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of the titled medium, to reduce the friction coefficient, and to improve the traveling stability by incorporating at least one kind among a perfluoroalcohol, a perfluoroalcohol ester, a perfluoroacid, a perfluoroacid ester, and a perfluoroamine into the magnetic layer along with the metallic magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:A 6-18C substance is appropriately used as the perfluoroalcohol, perfluoroalcohol ester, perfluoroacid, perfluoroacid ester, and perfluoroamine. The single substance of a mixture of >=2 kinds of the substances are used, and 0.3-15wt%, based on the binder in the magnetic layer, material is preferably used. Namely, the material is mixed with metallic magnetic powder, a binder resin, an org. solvent, etc., are dispersed to prepare a magnetic paint. The paint is coated on a substrate of polyester film, etc., and dried to form the magnetic layer. The metallic magnetic powder incorporated with elements such as Al, Cr, Mn, Si, Zn, etc., and consisting essentially of iron, the metallic magnetic powder of cobalt, nickel, etc., and the metallic magnetic powder of their alloy are widely used as the metallic magnetic powder.
