PURPOSE:To prevent clogging due to the solidification of molten slag by performing rapid quenching and water crushing for the slag in such a way that a plurality of cooling water streams are spouted toward a molten slag stream and providing a rotating force to the slag stream. CONSTITUTION:Molten slag (c) formed in a furnace mainbody 1 keeps a high temp. of 1,350-1,550 deg.C and an increase in the amount of burnt ash due to its continuous input causes the slag to be discharged successively from an exhaust hole 25. In the inside of a protecting cover 25, a nozzle 18 which spouts pressure cooling water to a molten slag stream (c) flowing downward to make fine grains of the slag by rapid quenching solidification is placed. The nozzle 18 has a plurality of pressure spouting slits 20 placed at the inside of a square-ring- shaped piping 19 surrounding the stream (c) in four directions and the slits 20 are opened to be able to spout pressure water to the side wall of the stream (c). Thereby, torsion and tensile stress are simultaneously applied to the stream (c) and cooling and crushing are simultaneously carried out by water.
