PURPOSE:To enable the storage of information of a long period of time and also to improve reliability of the stored information, by securing the storage of information with use of a nonvolatile memory element that can be electrically rewritten even in case the supply of power is cut off. CONSTITUTION:A nonvolatile memory element 9 which can be electrically rewritten in connected to a microcomputer 8 for write/read of information. The information stored in the element 9 is read out first and written to a volatile memory RAM incorporated to the computer 8. Then the information necessary for arithmetic and control are supplied and then delivered after the arithmetic processing carried out based on those information read out of or supplied to the element 9. Furthermore it is checked whether or not the information should be written to the memory 9. If so, the data of the RAM is written to the element 9 and each process is repeated. If a writing operation is needed under processing, the information is written to the element 9 and stored. Thus the information can be stored by the element 9 until the power is supplied again even though the power supply is cut off.
