PURPOSE:To make it possible to bond both sides with glass, to improve adhering strength and to prevent inflow glass from the generation of cracks or bubbles by setting up the slit part width of the back gap side approximately equally to the core chip width and setting up the slit part width of the front gap side wider than the core chip width to position the core chip. CONSTITUTION:A suspension loading groove part 2 formed on one main surface, a coil storing groove part 3 formed on one end surface and an air groove part formed on the other main surface are respectively formed on a block-like slider 1 consisting of a non-magnetic material, slit parts 6, 7 rectangularly crossing the groove part 3 on a pair of projections 4, 5 constituting the grove part 3 and a thin plate-like core chip 8 constituting a magnetic head by C and I type cores consisting of soft ferrite is joined with the slit parts 6, 7 through fused glass. Since the core chip 8 can be held at the position having the approximately equal width to that of the core chip 8, the positioning of the core chip 8 in the slit parts 6, 7 can be attained only by resin or glass adhesion and glass 9 can be made to flow into the space between the core ship 8 and the slit part 6 on the gap side without generating a trouble in the groove part 3, so that the quality and yield of the magnetic head can be improved.
