PURPOSE:To provide a freely adjustable air flow direction control device of an air conditioner by retrieving a code representing the stop position of a movable vane while operating the movable vane and stopping the movable vane when said code coincides with a code representing the stop position of a set movable vane set by a remote control operation. CONSTITUTION:The input value code xj of a movable vane position setting switch 28 of a remote control device 27 is confirmed. Whether the reference point detection flag of the movable vane is set or not is confirmed. If it is not set, whether or not a flag showing that a timer T in counting for confirming whether the timer T is in counting or not is set, is confirmed. If it is not set, whether or not a flag showing that a timer T for confirming whether the timer T completes its counting or not is set, is confirmed. If it is not set, whether or not a code xj-1 showing the stop position of a current movable vane 5 coincides with the code xj showing the stop position of a movable vane to be newly set, is confirmed. If the former coincides with the latter, a vane driving motor 1 is stopped.
