PURPOSE:A crystalline metallo-silicate suitable as a catalyst, having improved purity, mechanical strength, etc., obtained by maintaining an aqueous raw mate rial mixture comprising a silica source, a metallo-source and an alkali metallic salt free from organic compounds under a hydrothermal synthesis condition. CONSTITUTION:A silica source (e.g., silica powder or water-glass) is blended with a metallo-source (e.g., gallium nitrate, aluminum sulfate or iron nitrate) and an ankaline metallic salt (e.g., sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide) in a ratio of silica source/metallo-source of 25-500 based on oxide. Then, a prepared aqueous raw material mixture containing no organic compound is maintained under a hydrothermal synthesis condition to form the aimed crystal line metallo-silicate. The prepared crystalline metallo-silicate is blended with an additional metal such as copper, aluminum, manganese, etc., metallic com pound, etc., so that it is provided with catalytic activity of specific type.
