PURPOSE:To back up the debugging of a debug system by holding the state of an analyzing process to understand a natural language to designate said state to execute again the language processing and at the same time delivering the history information on the state to be held. CONSTITUTION:In a debug system 50, it is checked when the analyzing process is through with a single paragraph whether a re-execution mode is designated or not. When the re-execution mode is designated, the present processing state is erased out of a state buffer 25 and shifted to a state history buffer 51 to be held there. In a stepper mode designation mode the information on the new state is displayed on a terminal equipment 1 and a progress mode is waited for. Then the next analyzing process is started when the progress indication is received. The designated of the re-execution mode is discriminated when the analyzing process is through normally or due to an error. Then the next indication is waited for if the re-execution mode is confirmed. When the next indication is received, the processing is finished directly or the re-execution is controlled. The state preserved in the buffer 51 can be easily displayed and output to the equipment 1 by an appropriate command.
