PURPOSE:To teach a wear limit advance notice state and an alarm state with a pair of detection mechanisms by arranging a dog of a wheel spindle stock, a wear limit position detection means, a wheel spindle stock transfer detection means, and tow means for making an advance notice signal and an alarm signal. CONSTITUTION:When a grindstone 14 is worn, a dog 21 in the lower part of a wheel spindle stock comes in contact with a detector 22, and a grindstone wear limit advance notice detection signal is inputted into the first and second memory circuits 26 and 27 through the first AND circuit 24 to light a wear limit advance notice lamp 28. When wear is advanced farther, the dog 21 remains in contact with the detector 22 and the lamp 28 stays lighting. When the grindstone reaches the wear limit, the dog 21 comes away from the detector 22 and the detection signal is turned off, and a logic 1 is outputted form a NOT circuit 25 to the second AND circuit 29. The logic 1 and the advance notice position detection data of the second memory circuit 27 outputs a wear limit alarm position arrival signal to the third memory circuit 30 to light a wear limit alarm lamp 31 and to teach it to an operator. The alarm lamp 31 and the advance notice lamp 28 stay lighting unless the operator turns off them.
