PURPOSE:To obtain a printer head which is inexpensive, has excellent abrasion resistance and is capable of printing in forward and backward directions, by orderly affixing printing electrodes consisting of superhard wires to a base film, bringing the electrodes into contact with a copper foil pattern provided on another base film, and clamping both of them between casings. CONSTITUTION:Superhard wires (printing electrodes) 5 are arranged, a base film 7 coated with an adhesive is placed thereon, and the adhesive is hardened. Next, a cover film 9 shorter than the wires 5 is placed thereon, the resultant assembly is placed on a head casing 3, then a silicone rubber 10 is poured, and is hardened. On the other hand, a flexible cable incorporating a copper foil pattern 11 produced by photo-etching is placed on the head casing 3, and after positioning the wires 5 and the pattern 11, a head casing 4 is placed thereon, and is fixed. Accordingly, since the printing electrodes consists of the superhard wires, abrasion resistance and useful life of the head can be enhanced, and since the wires are supported by clamping them between the casings, bidirectional printing can be carried out. |
