PURPOSE:To make the depth of field confirmed at a preview time correspond to the depth of a finished picture and to remove the misconfirmation of the depth by opening a diaphragm largely if a trimming photographing mode is selected when a preview operating means for confirming the depth of field is operated at a trimming photographing time. CONSTITUTION:When trimming size in an equivalent stop value calculating routine is half size, a value obtained by stopping down practically calculated stop value Av by one level is set up as the equivalent stop value, and in case of quarter size, a value obtained by stopping down the step value Av by two levels is set up as the equivalent stop value. When the trimming size is half size, the practical stop value Av is opened by one level, and in case of quarter size, the value Av is opened by two levels. Since the depth of a picture obtained by trimming photographing becomes thinner that of a picture obtained by the normal photographing mode even if the same stop value is used, the stop value at the preview time is opened by a prescribed level by a preview button 4 so that the confirmed depth coincides with the depth of a finished picture.
