PURPOSE:To improve temp. characteristic and accuracy by selecting materials for prescribed constituting parts and compensating various changes by temp. CONSTITUTION:The karman vortex street acting as alternating force is generated by a fluid contact part 133 of a vortex generating body 13 according to the flow rate of the fluid flowing in a pipeline 11, by which lift is changed. This change is detected by stress detecting sensors 141, 142 which consist of the 1st and 2nd piezo-electric elements, etc. to form a sensor part 14 together with a push bar 147, etc. and are provided to a recess 134 of an upper outside cylindrical part 135 of the body 13. The materials for the cylindrical part 135 and the sensor part 14 are so selected that the thermal expansion of the pipeline 11 and the body 13, the change of the Young's modulus of the cylindrical part 135 and the sensor part 14, and the constant change of the detecting parts 141, 142 are subjected to temp. compensation. As a result, the temp. characteristic is improved and the accuracy of the mass flowmeter is improved.
