PURPOSE:To automatically inspect the control mode by providing the value of an input sensor, in pseudo form, and connecting a pulse counter to the output and adding the specific conditions into the input. CONSTITUTION:In an engine controller, a microcomputer 1 outputs the output corresponding to the input of each sensor into a variety of actuators through an output timer 3 and an actuator driver 4. Further, a mode switch 5 is connected to the port of the microcomputer 1, and switching to the control mode corresponding to the destination of a car by the switch 5 is permitted. When the input C of the revolution signal sensor corresponding to the superhigh speed revolution by the input of a pseudo-sensor satisfies the condition D and other switches B are turned ON, and the time on a delay timer T lapses, the pulse trains in the number corresponding to the control mode are outputted into the actuator output A. Therefore, the control mode can be automatically inspected by counting the above-described number by a pulse counter.
