PURPOSE:To enhance the sharpness of a saw blade, by subjecting the sawblade to tilting motion so that the front end face of the set of the saw blade is aligned with the radial direction of a grindstone, and therefore, the polished and corrected edge of the saw blade is made to be orthogonal to the surface of the set. CONSTITUTION:A sawblade 1 is clamped on a semicircular clamp bed 5 which is meshed with a pinion gear 4 at its outer periphery, so that the reference point (root line) of the set of the sawblade is located at the center of the clamp bed 5. With this arrangement, the clamp bed is tilted right and left, and therefore the saw blade 1 is tilted about the root line as a center. At this time, the pinion gear 4 is subjected to a predetermined swing motion by means of a suitable mechanism or the like including a link 6 so that the front end face of the set of the sawblade 1 is aligned with the radial direction of a grindstone 2, that is, the font end face of the set of the sawblade is made to be vertical. further, it is sufficient to conduct the motion of the grindstone 2 at this time such that swing motion is applied synchronized with the feed of the sawblade.
