For preventing this, electrolyte bath is fed to the other preelectrolyzing cell 5, insoluble anodes 6 such as platinum and a stainless cathode 7 are used to electrolytically prerefine under the condition precipitating Cu, Co, Ni, etc., and these are preferentially pptd. at the cathode 7, then electrolytic refining is carried out in the cell 1 to electrodeposit high quality iron without contg. metal impurities such as Cu, Co, Ni on the cathode 4.
