PURPOSE:To prevent drop of maximum capacity of printing per minute in continuous printing by furnishing a transport control means to adjust the sheet feed spacing for two-sides or multiple purpose copying sheets according to the transport condition or in compliance with external means. CONSTITUTION:When the counter Tpx for print sheets transported to a two-side transport path 14a has attained a specified number in the case of two-side printing, the count time T2+Tp is set on a timer TA, and the counter Tpx is cleared, and if no, the count time T1+Tp is set on the timer TA, and single printing action is repeated. In the case of two-side printing, therefore, the time from stacking completion of printing sheets on an intermediate tray 11a till refeeding is adjusted previously at the time of sheet feeding. That is, sheet spacing for the time Ts necessary to said tray 11a is set to T2, and the portion corresponding to the extension by T2 compared with the time Tx for spacing of sheets attaining maximum throughput is taken back by T1, which ensures that the max. through is not dropped as a whole. Therefore, the stacking time Ts is set so as to satisfy the given equation. |
