BUTTED JUNCTURE OF OPTICAL CIRCUIT SUBSTRATE AND OPTICAL CABLE

PURPOSE:To permit a decrease in the number of junctures and reduction of a cost as well as efficient connection by concentrating the ends of respective optical fibers to part of an optical circuit substrate to form a multicored substrate connector part and butting the multicored optical core connector part of an optical cable thereby constructing the above-mentioned juncture. CONSTITUTION:The ends of the receiving type optical fibers 13 for light source and the end of the plural signal feed optical fibers 14 are arranged to part of the circumferential edge of the optical circuit substrate 9 in parallel to two upper and lower stages so as to have a plane shape by aligning the respective axial cores at the same pitch as the pitch of the optical fibers 2, 3 in the multicored optical core connector part 5 by which the multicored substrate connector part 16 is formed. Such multicored substrate connector part 16 is so formed that the circumferential edge of a substrate body 10 projects. Lock pawls 19 are respectively pivotally supported by pins 2 at both ends in the inlet of a connector housing 18. The pawls 19 are detained with the step part of a fiber arranging board 6 on the other side in the stage of butt- connecting of the multicored optical core connector part 5 and the multicored substrate connector part 16, by which locking is executed.
