摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an ink supply mechanism capable of discharging air bubbles, by integrating an ink jet head and an ink tank and two drawing out pipes from the ink tank to allow one of them to open to the atmosphere through a solenoid valve and connecting the other pipe to an ink cartridge through a second solenoid valve. CONSTITUTION:A small ink tank 7 is mounted to an ink jet head 3 and ink detecting electrode rods 8, 9 are arranged in the ink tank 7 to control the liquid surface of ink. The pipe 10 of the ink tank 7 is opened to the atmosphere through a solenoid valve 13 and the pipe 11 of the ink tank 7 is connected to an ink cartridge 17 from a tube 12 through a second solenoid valve 14. When the liquid surface in the ink tank 7 is lowered from the end surfaces of the electrode rods 8, 9, the solenoid valve 14 is opened and ink is supplied into the ink tank 7 from the ink cartridge 17. The discharge of air bubbles is performed by a method wherein the solenoid valve 13 is closed while the solenoid valve 14 is opened to raise the pressure in the ink tank and the ink containing air bubbles is discharged from a nozzle 21.
