PURPOSE:To eliminate adverse effect due to heat accumulation exerted on printing quality by efficiently utilizing printing energy, by using an ultrasonic wave in order to apply printing energy. CONSTITUTION:When a high frequency current is supplied to a coil 3 from a high frequency power source 1 by a switching circuit 2 and an AC magnetic field is applied to a magnetic body 4, the magnetic body generates minute vibration by magnetostriction to generate an ultrasonic wave from the end surface thereof. This ultrasonic wave is transmitted to a horn 5 and, when the horn 5 is pressed to a platen 8 through a transfer film 6 and printing paper 7, the contact surfaces of the transfer film 6 and the printing paper 7 are minutely vibrated to generate friction heat. The ink of the transfer film 6 is melted by the friction heat and transferred to the printing paper to perform printing. As mentioned above, printing energy can be efficiently conducted by using the ultrasonic wave and adverse effect due to heat accumulation of a heat is not exerted on printing quality. |
