Such a tool makes it possible to cut into pre-formed balls of dough as they come out of the resting (proving) chamber and is noteworthy in that it comprises at least two curved and transversely inclined blades 6 with adjustable separation, and in that it consists of at least two sliding elements 1, 2 trapped in a handling grip 3, each element comprising a base bar 4 engaged in the grip 3, securely carrying a blade-carrying rod 5, directed perpendicular to its bar, slightly twisted on itself and carrying, at its free end, a blade 6 mounted so that its cutting edge has a curved shape which is not very pronounced, this blade 6 having, at the same time, a slight upwards inclination with respect to the plane of the base bar 4 and of the grip 3, due to the twist of its carrying rod.
