PURPOSE:To enable a sheet to be held in resist condition after separation of a roller by releasing the pinching through separation of a feed roller and a separating roller while a sendoff roller is holding the trailing edge of the sheet, and by holding the sheet with a stopper and releasing the holding by said sendoff roller. CONSTITUTION:Each original separated by a separating roller 21 is transported by a feed roller 19 on a transport line L0, and after the leading edge of the original has passed a sensor S2, the original is put in contact with the rolling contact parts of a transport roller 29 and a pinch roller 31, whereby the attitude of original is corrected, and then a solenoid 16 is energized to sink a sendoff roller 15, and the trailing edge of the original is held fast. Then the original passes the sensor S2, and a feed roller motor 23 stops after passage of a certain period of time, and then the pinching by the rollers 19, 21 is released and a stopper 61 moves to a specified position at the same time as the separation. The trailing edge of the original is detained with the roller 21, and the solenoid 16 is deenergized after passage of a certain period of time, and then the roller 15 is heaved from the surface of original. Thus the original is held in deflected condition by the stopper 61, and transport roller motor is operated a certain while after deenergization of the solenoid 16 to send out the original onto platen glass.
