摘要 PURPOSE:To provide the titled photosensitive body which has high sensitivity over a wide wavelength region, has high running property of a carrier, high resistance and excellent electrostatic charge characteristic by using the superlattice structure constituted by laminating thin layers having optical band gaps different from each other to part or the whole of a photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:A surface layer 24 is provided on the photoconductive layer 23 or charge generating layer 26. The a-Si:H, etc., of the photoconductive layer 23 or charge generating layer 26 have the refractive index relatively as large as 3-3.4 and therefore, light reflection is liable to arise on the surface thereof. If such light reflection arises, the ratio of the quantity of the light to be absorbed into the photoconductive layer 23 or change generating layer 26 decreases and light loss increases and therefore, the reflection is preferably provided by providing the surface layer 24. The manufacture of the photosensitive body is executed by running a motor 18 to rotate a drum base body 14 and heating the drum base body 14 to a specified temp. by a heater 15. High-frequency current is supplied between an electrode 13 and the body 14 by a high-frequency power source 16 to form glow discharge between both, by which the a-Si:H is deposited on the body 14.
