PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent copying image where distortion or speckle is reduced by controlling the sending of an image signal at an image read section and the recording of the image in the image recording section onto recording paper based on a timing signal. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit section 24 applies the operation control of a CCD line image sensor 22 and a printer 17 based on a timing pulse signal from a rotary encoder 25 in copying the image on an original face, a timing pulse signal RE in response to the turning speed of a running roller 14A is obtained from the rotary encoder 25 and fed to a sensor drive pulse generating section 36 and a printer drive pulse generating section 37 via a switch 35. An image signal OI latched in a line memory 32 is fed to a head drive section 33 in response to a print pulse signal PT, a thermal head 34 is driven based on the image signal OI to record the line image to the recording paper 15P. Thus, distortion or speckle is reduced and excellent copy image is obtained.
