PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording method capable of a high-speed recording with high density and sensitivity, by a method wherein; an optical recording medium has a recording layer containing a diacetylene derivative compound and a specific compound and being made of a monomolecular film or a built-up film of the diacetylene derivative compound in the condition of single or mixture with the specific compound, and thereto an ultraviolet ray is irradiated to polymerize the diacetylene derivative compound and an infrared ray of a specific wavelength is irradiated to discolor the irradiated portion of the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium has a recording layer containing a diacetylene derivative compound having hydrophilic portions together with hydrophobic portions and at least one sort among compounds shown by a formula (1) or (2). The recording layer is made of a monomolecular film or a built-up film of the diacetylene derivative compound in the condition of single or mixture with the compounds shown by the formula (1) or (2). To the optical recording medium, an ultraviolet ray is irradiat ed to polymerize the diacetylene compound and an infrared ray of 800-900nm wave length is irradiated according to a recording information to discolor the irradiated portion of the recording layer. In this manner, a recording of uniform quality and high density can be carried out with a high signal/noise ratio. |
