PURPOSE:To select a color marker different from the color of lighting light and to copy it by projecting a lighting light having a specific color, detecting the presence/absence of an optical energy reflected from a writing medium and excluding a color marker the same as the color of the lighting light. CONSTITUTION:A pink color light 31, a blue light 32 and a green light 33 in place of a white fluorescent light and a lamp control section 34 controlling the blinking of the lights 31-33 are provided. When an instruction signal to copy the black and red markers only except the blue marker is sent from an operation section 12 to a control section 13, the control section 13 lights the blue light 32. In projecting the blue light to the sheet 3, the reflected light cannot distinct the blue marker from the white the background of the sheet 1 and the light is formed on an image sensor 7, from which the detection signal of the blue marker and that of the black and red markers are sent to a circuit section 8. Thus, the color marker having a different color from that of the lighting light is selected and copied.
