PURPOSE:To aim at improvement in bond strength of an aluminum evaporation film, by spraying a certain amount of impalpable powder of boric acid to the specified part of an inner surface of a skirt part after being washed by a solution containing potassium oxide and silicic acid and water, drying it up, and forming the inner surface of the skirt part into a rough surface. CONSTITUTION:A black matrix 2 and a phosphor layer 3 are formed on an inner surface 1a of a panel 1, and a filming liquid is applied to them in flowing over. A solution containing potassium oxide and silicic acid is made to flow over a part where trimming for a filming membrane 10 of an inner surface 1b of the panel 1 is going to be done from a nozzle 7 via an electromagnetic bulb S while rotating the panel 1 and heating, drying the applied surface by an infrared heater 9. The filming material swollen by action of this solution is washed off with wash water 8 flowing over, and while it is in a state of being wetted, impalpable powder of boric acid (H3BO3) in a tank 13 is sprayed to the inner surface 1b of the skirt part by high pressure air and stuck to this surface.
