<p>A novel method of processing sinterable powders into sintered ceramic products of calcium phosphate compounds, such as hydroxylapatite, involving agglomeration of fine particles with a binding agent and extraction of the binding agent from the agglomerates prior to sintering. The sintered agglomerates have a porosity, particle size and spherical shape which provides a unique combination of advantageous properties when employed as implant materials.</p> |
