<p>A fluids separator is described which comprises an enclosure filled with a bundle of hollow fibres which have selective permeability, in which a majority of the hollow fibres each have 1 to 10 barbs on the periphery thereof which extend in a longitudinal direction, and the ratio of space occupied and cross-sections defined by the peripheries of all the hollow fibres excluding the barb portions in the bundle of hollow fibres to the cross- section vertical to the axial direction of the bundle of hollow fibres of the inner wall of the enclosure lies between a range defined by the following formula I: <IMAGE> where x represents the average number of barbs per hollow fibre in the bundle of hollow fibres andαindicates the ratio H/d of the mean height of a barb H (microns) in the bundle of hollow fibres to the mean external diameter d (microns) of the hollow fibres excluding the barbed portions.</p> |
