PURPOSE:To enable the simultaneous opening of all hatch covers without any restriction about the laying of said covers on top of each other and hatch coaming sizes by constituting the system wherein the hatch covers transversely moved to one side are supported approximately at the center line thereof and turned by 90 deg. transversely. CONSTITUTION:A hatch cover 1 closes a hatch coaming 2 open almost in the entire breadth of the upper deck of a hull 3 in such a way as to permit the opening of said coaming 2 whenever necessary. In the transverse direction of the hatch coaming 2, there are intermediate rollers 4 provided at suitable intervals and roller passage holes are formed on the hatch coaming 2. A pair of hooks are provided on port and starboard on the fore and aft surfaces of the hatch cover 1, and the upper ends of the hooks are coupled to eye pieces projectively provided at the fore and aft ends of the hatch cover 1. Furthermore, support projections 21 are provided at the fore and aft ends of the hatch cover 1 and a support lever 22 coupled to the projections 21 is turned about a roller shaft 23, thereby erecting the hatch cover 1.
