The invention relates to a holder for motor vehicle rearview mirrors, which is composed of a tube which supports the rearview mirror and a foot which is diecast. The foot can be fastened to the motor vehicle and has a hollow attachment which is cylindrical in shape, at least on the inside. An axial mandrel is centrally moulded onto the floor of the hollow cylindrical foot reception device and the tube, with its free end press-fitted with plastic deformation, is slid onto the said mandrel. The mandrel, which is essentially circular in cross-section, has a diameter which is greater than the inside width of the end of the tube. The distance between the mandrel and the hollow cylindrical reception device is slightly greater than the thickness of the wall of the end of the tube. The free end section of the attachment projects over the step, which is formed by extension of the tube, on the peripheral surface of the tube and is pressed together to such an extent that it engages with the step in the peripheral surface of the tube from behind.
