A seal for sealing a seal gap (10) between elements (11, 13) which can be moved in relation to one another, in particular an inner element and outer element, with respect to gaseous and/or liquid media which are located therein. The said seal consists of a suitable material such as rubber or plastic which is arranged in a sealing joint (21). This is for example a change-over rotary slide as fitting for tubular heat exchangers. In the known devices, a reliable seal is problematic, in particular when shearing forces occur. Back mixing of the flows of media, in particular in multi-path fittings, has not been avoidable hitherto. With the invention, it is advantageous that there is provision for the seal to have a sealing bead (20) which is arranged so as to be capable of being clamped, preferably clamped or wedged from the inside, in the sealing joint (21). Expediently, the sealing joint (21) has in its lower region two grooves (22, 23) which are opposite one another and into which the sealing bead (21) is fitted on both sides, the cavity (24) formed by the sealing bead (20) being filled with curable plastic. <IMAGE>
