Chemisorption filter package for the elimination of fickle odours, odours in sick rooms and tobacco smoke

It is known to decrease or totally eliminate odours, basal, tobacco smoke and the like by chemisorption compositions and ultrasonic apparatuses and UV lamp irradiation. In order to create a highly active, compact arrangement of this type, according to the invention it is proposed that a chemisorption package is impinged with air to be purified in the following sequence: Soda lime layer, comprising granular bodies which are provided with a high capillary proportion and which are impregnated with monobasic and/or polybasic carboxylic acids; a further layer likewise comprising expanded materials having a high proportion of capillaries, impregnated with alkaline iron (III) hydroxide solution (FE(OH)3); and an activated charcoal layer, the individual layers with a nonwoven web dust filter lying offset, preferably delimited from each other. The apparatus is composed of a case, the fan (3) being mounted between a suction-side and pressure-side chemisorption filter package arrangement (2, 4), the last chemisorption filter layer on the outlet side being fabricated as an activated charcoal layer which is bonded by a nonwoven web filter layer. <IMAGE>
