<p>Method for localising a moving body on a railway network by means of a system comprising : a sensor (R) integral with the moving body, cooperating with fixed reference marks placed at the vicinity of the railway track, a circuit for formatting the signal issued from the sensor, means for measuring the distance covered or the travel time, a data base (BD) containing the description of a graph of which the nodes are the fixed reference marks and the branches are the tracks which connect them, and a circuit (OT) controlled by the formatted signal, connected to the means for measuring the distance covered or the travel time and to the data base, determining the position of the moving body.
