A hand-held plier type stapler (10) has a first handle (12) to which an anvil (19) is pivotally mounted. The first handle (12) also houses a stapler head (26) for forming and driving staples. A second handle (17) is rotatably mounted to the first handle (12). Movement of the second handle (17) moves the anvil (19) towards a workpiece (82) to be stapled and drives the stapler head (26) to form and drive a staple under the influence of a toggle action of the mechanism (62, 71). |
