PURPOSE:To prevent a semiconductor laser and a scanner motor from deteriorating and to eliminate noises when a laser recorder is not used by detecting the temperature of a fixing means and controlling the driving for the scanning of modulated laser light on a recording body. CONSTITUTION:When a main switch 44 is turned on, the heater 40 of the fixing means is supplied with electric power, the temperature of the fixing means is detected by a thermistor 42, and a relay RL1 is not excited by an operational amplifier until the detected temperature reaches a set temperature, so that a stepping motor 28 which drives a scanning mirror by a scanner motor driver 30 is still off. After the temperature reaches the set temperature, the relay RL2 of the driver 30 is not excited when no laser light is not irradiated in nonprinting mode, and the motor 28 is driven at a slow speed with driving pulses passed through a frequency divider 54. When this necessary condition is satisfied, a scan is made and the scanning speed is reduced in nonprinting mode to reduce the power consumption of the semiconductor laser and scanner motor. Consequently, they are prevented from deteriorating and unnecessary noise generated by the scanner motor is eliminated. |
