Process for applying a liquor and apparatus for carrying out the process

A process for applying a liquor to a dry textile web provides for measuring the entry moisture (f1) in the textile web (4) in a plurality of zones distributed over the width. A desired value (fs) is obtained by multiplying the dry density (mt) by an application factor (x) and the subsequent addition of the entry moisture (f1). This desired value is compared with the exit moisture (f2) and the liquor application quantity is set in dependence on this. In addition, the entry density of the textile web can be measured in each zone and the current dry density can be determined from this and from the entry moisture. This results in a highly accurate dimensioning of the respective application quantity. There is proposed, furthermore, an apparatus for carrying out the process, which has an entry-moisture measuring device (9), if appropriate an entry-density measuring device (16), and a desired-value computer (17, 18), to which the measured values on these measuring devices can be fed. <IMAGE>
