A large household pack in the form of a drum (11), having a beaded edge (16) at the bottom and a lid (14) which covers the entire cross-section of the drum, can be secured by an integral gripping strap (6) against access by children who are at risk due to their age if a gripping strap (6), which is attached via rivets (12) to the drum wall (10), is stretched tightly over the lid (14) towards one side, and the longitudinal end of the gripping strap (6) is coupled to a tension spring (1) which engages in a positive-locking manner below the beaded edge (16) (Figure 3). <IMAGE>
