<p>4,5-Dihydro imidazole cpds. of formula (I), in which R is H or methyl and their acid addn. salts, for pharmaceutical use as alpha-adrenergal antagonists are made by (a) reacting benzo 1,4-dioxan 2-carbonitrile with ethanol in presence of HCl for 5-45 minutes; (b) neutralising the excess HCl with an alkali alkoxide; and (c) reacting the prod. with diethylamine.</p> |
