PURPOSE:To eliminate unpleasant tone such as a dial tone or a busy tone in the automatic redialing and to easily recognize the calling state by outputting only an informing tone from an informing tone generating section from a speaker in response to the detection output of a calling state detection section. CONSTITUTION:A switch 11 closes a line during the automatic redialing to read a telephone number stored in a RAM 9 and its number is sent from a dialing section 10. The dial tone is not outputted from a speaker 14. When the opposite party is not busy, since a call signal comes from a line, the signal is detected by a calling state detection section 5 and its detection output is given to a CPU 7. Then the CPU 7 outputs a drive signal to an informing tone generating section 12, and an informing tone informing the calling state from a speaker 14 to a caller is given.
